Bionicle- Nova Orbis- Miro Nui Overview by NickinAmerica Bionicle- Nova Orbis- Miro Nui Overview by NickinAmerica
Here's a closer look at the island this story would take place on, and a glance of the Matoran who live all over it.

I've put a lot of thought into how all these regions would fit together and what the roles of each tribe of Matoran would be, which we'll delve into in the next section, which happens to be right here.…

Huh, okay. Last page, I was thinking some of the geographical features looked like meteor impacts, nice to see the lore supports that.

Also, I'm not sure if I've done it yet, but I'd like to commend your commitment to style. Your Metroid comic made extensive use of "silent" scenes, your Felaryans had an unreal quality that contrasted with the humans in it. And now, you're replicating the feel of the Bionicle source material, down to the side pages of setting information. It adds weight.

Thanks. For me, style and substance are not mutually exclusive things.

Style can be part of the substance, sometimes. Just ask Weird Al.

For some reason, I always felt like six tribes were not enough for Bionicle.  I mean, there were no lightning or poison users, nor anybody who could interact with darkness.  There felt like there was something missing.  It never helped that the rock-users and the earth-users felt redundant next to each other.

But thirteen tribes?  I think you may have fixed the problem.  Though I can't think of thirteen different powers as of yet.  I guess I'll go find out what they are.

Very colorful design! If this were an actual BIONICLE location, of course, I'd probably have a tremendously hard time keeping up with so many different locations and tribes. But I think for the purposes of telling this story you should be able to keep things reasonably clear and bring new tribes and locations into the story as they become relevant.

Well, grouping them all together into five super-tribes should simplify things a tad. Yeah, coming up with thirteen Turaga to represent them all wouldn't help at all.

Feedback is appreciated, feedback is what you're gonna get!

I was never a true Bionicle fan, I just like the way they looked and bought some of them. It's now that I realized that this series had a whole world along with it. It seemed pretty underrated at that time, my friend and I used to collect them but no one else seemed to have them. After seeing your LP of the online game, my fascination blew up and reached the sky, I just couldn't believe what I missed out on. My favorites have to be the Matoran, I mean the Toas are cool and all, but you don't see them alot in the game and they don't seem to give off different emotions(except the blue one.) And it seems your comic is based off the events in the online/GBA game just not on the same planet. I think the story might get messy with all of the races, characters and events clashing and such, but I hope you are able to balance it all ok. Well, I sure hope this comic is as great as these character previews and intros suggest, best of luck in all your efforts.

Well, The tribes won't all be introduced at once. I just didn't want to jump into this story without having a strong base to build from, first. That's what made Bionicle leave such a strong first impression back in the day, you know?

Actually, it won't be a comic... I just don't have the time for that. Instead, I'll write serials and whip up a few illustrations to go along with the story, so you can see what the characters look like an' whatnot. Hey, it's somethin'.

Anyway, thanks.

I have to ask... do you plan to include at least one new character for each of those tribes? If so, it seems like this could be a really big project, even if you said that it wouldn't be, lol (not that I'm complaining, of course... I'm just saying).

About the actual drawing, I like it a lot, and I'm surprised to see that you actually drew thirteen characters just for this... or maybe they are old invidiual drawings that you put up together for this poster?

No, I whipped them all up in the span of a week, just for this. And yes, there will be a character (or two) from each tribe. They just won't all be introduced early on. We'll focus on a few characters as they move from place to place, meeting the other tribes.
