NO, this is not the same character named Django from Pseudo Sapien Antibody and NO, I did not name this guy Django to leech off the movie Django Unchained. A lot of people describe Samus as a female Boba Fett, and well... Boba... Jango... Django... eh? I just think it's such a lovely name for a male character. I won't be using it again, though. As for his Surname, I was originally going to call him "Django Virgin" because I thought ti had a nice ring, you know? But, in the end, I went with Vardamis because of how fancy and obscure it sounds. I don't think I'll be reusing that name for another male character anytime soon, though...

Another thing worth nothing about him is... his expression in the first panel. I understand that, at a glance, it's easily to think he looks bored or lethargic, which makes a bad first impression and may lead some to assume he will be a boring character.... but look at his eyebrows. See how nervous and overwhelmed he is despite trying so hard to save face? Those eyebrows are where all the emotion is leaking out from, like a boil or.... something. Keep a keen eye open for things like that, okay?

Also, worth noting, you may notice the Galactic Federation Emblem looks a lot like the one Featured in Other M, but it shows an actual galaxy and not just one lone star.

Now, let's talk about Samus. I understand that some of you may have wanted her to be the classic silent protagonist and may be disappointed that after making it this far without letting out a single word and making such an impression that way, she has broken her silence.... but this is just how it's gotta be. YES, Samus WILL speak. She won't prattle on like she did in Other M, but if someone asks her something, of course she's going to answer. She's not a dickhead, you know.

One other thing... When handling this scene, I thought of all sorts of ways it could go. I bet many of you were thinking "Wait, she can't trust this guy! Obviously, it's a trap! The Galactic Federation just sent their pretty boy lapdog to seduce her and reel her in or something!".

Well, This thought has indeed crossed Samus' mind... she just didn't SAY it. Sorry to say, for those of you who WANT there to be more dialog like that, this is just something you'll have to get used to. You're going to have to decide for yourself what Samus is thinking just by looking at her body language and whatnot. I think it's safe to say that after everything she's been through, Samus has grown perceptive enough to "read" people like Django and tell if they're trying to take advantage of her or not. She could scan him and look at his heart rate an' whatnot, sure, but she was just reading his face. Some things are just going to be left unsaid (aside from in descriptions like this).

But hey, if she says he's cool, then he must be.
