And now, you see why Anthony looks different.

As for the dialog.... Yeah, people, this really is what I think the point of Adam shooting Samus in the back was. The entire story is about him giving her a hard time to get back at her for bruising his ego, and she just takes it because she has battered wife syndrome. It's a stupid, mean story. I simply cannot allow this EVIL man to exist in this story.

And you know what? Over the next few pages, I'm going to rectify that by showing what "REALLY" happened on the bottle ship, and what kind of man Adam actually was.

On another note... yes, Samus is naked in this scene and she just finished showering. That said, this is not simple fanservice. I really just wanted to show her... shape, and how big she is. Keep in mind, this person is roughly six and a half feet tall. I did mess her up in the second panel, making her lurch forward in an almost ape-like stance, but she has every right to sulk after watching.... THAT. After that much needed cool off, though, she felt like calling Anthony... and yes, people still use phones, even though this is thousands of years in the future. I know, it's dumb to draw these sorts of things an' movie theaters an' whatnot in a story like this, but I just felt people would be able to identify with these things more easily than, say, a keyboard implanted under the skin of the palm of your hand or something invasive like that. I was thinking of having Samus call him via... webcam or some such thing, but decided not to when I chose to draw her like this.

I also want to say I think it's very telling that Samus is so... lacking of vanity that she's more bothered by how her loved ones are perceived than how people across the galaxy think of her.

Anyhow, sorry to say that's it for today. I really want this page to count. You could say that... this page shows what Metroid Revival is really all about. It's about undoing the HURT that Other M did, restoring the Samus many of us believed in, and giving characters like Adam some desperately needed redemption.

So, knowing that, what do you guys think of this scene, and this story as a whole, as of now? Do you think I'm just making a big deal out of a whole lot of nothin', or does this give you some newfound respect for the project?

Phones make as much sense as movie theaters; there's still some enjoyment to be had from the communal experience of watching something, and there's an argument to be made for not being as plugged-in as any given character from Ghost in the Shell... that argument being Ghost in the Shell. And look at our world now; we've had the technology to implement video phones since the early 1980s, but we don't do it because most people don't want a video phone most of the time. Sure, it's nice to skype and see a long-distance loved-one face-to-digital-face, but would you want to do that for every call, wherever you happened to be, however you happened to look?

Some of the words in this look a little odd. In the third panel, "punishes her. It's evil." and "that scene that way." have a different weight and slant than the rest of the text. It looks like whatever was originally written in that space was wiped out and replaced. Was that the case?

I suppose you've been wondering how I'd deal with the problematic portrayal of Adam in Other M for some time, now... would you say rubbing it out altogether was a good call, or just a cop out? I'm still going to show my own take on him, at least.

I like it. It gets a kind of metatextual vibe to it, where the story-within-a-story is unreal, but still something people within the story have to deal with. It gives you a chance to examine issues of character and storytelling through the lens of your characters' perceptions and views.

we all know what i gotta say about other M, if not, heres the short: worst high budget fan fic i've ever did see...
here is hoping you'll do great justice on your canon, which i shall call!!!! THE ULTIMATE NICK METROID UNIVERSE!!! there ya go, NOW DO WHATEVER YA WANT!!!!
also hoping you'll fix that flashback in other M, where samus wanted to save Ian but Adam was like, no thats an order, and ever since people were saying that he was right to do it. although samus COULD have a chance to save him, then ran through the ship to the hanger and emergency launched herself to the exploding ship thing... then manages to work through the debris to save Ian. and after all of that, she realizes how she was able to do stuff on her own, then became bounty hunter :U
