And so, just after descending to earth, the angels are greeted by carnivorous monsters, and the survivors flee back to the heavens.

So, yeah, this first sequence is really just a retelling the opening from the first Devilman OVA. It's a cool sequence, but... personally, I think it goes on just a little too long. The music also doesn't feel that fitting and I personally think it gives too much away. I mean, there wasn't anything like that in the original manga. Still... with this, I'm going to keep it vague, more surreal and isolating, like these are just glimpses of something seen in a dream, rather than a flashback to the actual event.

The violence in this scene is NOTHING compared to some of the things you'll be witnessing later on. I hate to to say it, but I may finally start putting a mature content block on some of the upcoming pages.
