Here's what you can expect from me in the coming months.
Here's the abridged version-
Rise of The Devilman
Cutie Honey Shine
Bionicle- Nova Orbis
Felarya- Dimension of Rapture
Now, read on for the whole shebang.
Very soon (maybe even over the weekend), I am going to begin working on a new comic, "Rise of The Devilman," my re-imagining of Go Nagai's best work (in my opinion) that I love for a lot of things, but mainly its ingenious premise.
Basically, a powerful demon attempts to possess and consume a boy who's heart ultimately proves so righteous, so pure, that the demon fails to possess him, and it ends up going the other way around, with the virtuous boy inheriting the demon's power. Super strength, flight, standard things like that. From that point on, his life is a constant struggle to contain the hellish beast within and save his immortal soul, all while battling OTHER demonic creatures and, eventually, the antichrist.
Isn't that #&@%ING AWESOME???
You'd be surprised by how supportive my Christian folks are of this project. They don't know much ABOUT it, but they love the premise. It just... works.
So yeah, be ready for my take on this great story... but there's more to it than this being a simple fancomic, or even a tribute to Go Nagai. Read on, and you'll see.
Anyone who's read my previous journal knows how... stifling Bionicle- Nova Orbis is beginning to feel. I don't want to outright CANCEL this project, but I do need to find a better way to go about it... so here goes. From now on, alongside the usual pages of Devilman and so on, I am also going to whip up a new illustration (YES, JUST ONE) for Bionicle- Nova Orbis each day... if I have the time to spare on it, that particular day. I am also going to try making fewer illustrations (just less than ten, maybe around seven) so you won't have to wait as long between new chapters. I'll try to have a new chapter online every two weeks at the latest, but sooner if I can help it.
I apologize to those of you who really REEEALLY wanna see the rest of this story play out as soon as possible, but... I have other things to do, and this is the best way I can think of to go about it without it getting in the way of my other projects.
Along with that, we'll get the occasional Felarya- Dimension of Rapture comic. No surprises, there. This is just a way for me to take a breather and cool down between bigger, more draining projects while still doing... SOMETHING...
And now... Cutie Honey. I wanted to get started with that at the beginning of the year, but... honestly, I don't feel I'm ready for this QUITE yet. ALMOST, but... not quite. Consider Rise of the Devilman a stepping stone toward that. With this, I will acclimate myself to a more oldschool anime-sque feel that fits the world I have in mind for Cutie Honey. While Honey is beautiful and slick, Devilman, while similar, is much more ROUGH and gritty, so I think it's for the best that I tackle this first while I smooth things out for Honey.
Plus, like Cutie Honey, this is a way of challenging myself... to see if I'm mature enough to take on the crazy adult themes of these characters and their worlds without it turning out really dumb. With Devilman, it's the sheer grimness of what it implies. Believe it or not, Cutie Honey Shine, while a bit more light-hearted in tone, will be even CRAZIER, so again... this is just a natural next step toward that, to see what elements I can handle as a storyteller, to see how far I can push myself as a writer and see if I have what it takes to cut it in the comics industry.
Now... as for how I'm going to handle these projects, how much time I'll dedicate to them an' whatnot... while I'll still be rolling with the routine that kept me going through the later half of 2013, uploading two pages a day on the weekdays, I'll also try to write a new chapter for Nova Orbis each weekend. As for the lifespan of the Devilman and Cutie Honey comics... those could wind up being even longer... no, MUCH longer than Metroid Revival in the long run. ...yeah...
HOWEVER... I won't be going about it that way, uploading the entire story in one marathon sitting. Instead, I'll work on smaller arcs, about 100 pages or so each, and call them "tomes" or something. They'd be not unlike a full volume of an actual manga, or a trade paperback of 6 or 7 of our western comics with a self-contained story arc. These arcs will be parts of a larger narrative, but still have enough going on to each make an impression and stand strong on their own. They'll be the sort of thing that CAN be expanded upon... but doesn't need to. This way, I'll always be able to add more material to what's there, but I won't have to COMMIT myself to it in a way that's just asking for too much from one guy.
So yeah... I've got my work cut out for me. What do you guys think of this? What are you looking forward to, most? What do you think is right up my alley and would turn out best based on what you've seen of my past work? Am I just biting off more than I can chew?

Ready for commissions.
Hey, everyone. Sorry I haven't been too active lately. Truth is, I've been working on a TON of art, just haven't been uploading much of it here yet. Let's just say I could use the work at the moment. So if you're interested, I'd appreciate it. Current prices, keeping in mind it can take most of a day to finish one of these. Full body shot- $50 +$40 for each additional character +$40 for a background Comic book cover/page- $100 Feedback is appreciated.
New Lego Rewind just dropped!
This will probably be the last one of the year, depending on how things go. I have 3 Monkie Kid Megareviews to catch up on, and I can only spare so much time for videos. Pledging $5 to my Patreon page will get you the video a week early, and pledging $10 within the next 6 days will get your name added to the credits before it goes public. See you there.
Something special today!
Itch is having a "creator day" where creators like me get to keep 100% of what we make from sales (usually my cut is about 70%). If you were considering getting the Planet Ripple digitally through Itch instead of Kindle I would really appreciate it, especially today. https://nick-on-planet-ripple.itch.io/
Planet Ripple Volume 6 RELEASED!
Now you can get the print and kindle versions on Amazon, or get a PDF through Itch. Keep in mind, this is the longest book so far. The first was only 150 pages. This is about 190. Naturally, I had to raise the price a bit. Just two dollars, though. But remember! If you want a signed copy, you can upgrade your Patreon tier to $50. https://www.patreon.com/NickAnderson I went aaaallll out with this one. It's not the end of the series, more like a season 1 finale... But it is the end of some current arcs, the last book where the pirates are still the major threat to global stability. As for Minnow, she'll have to ask uncomfortable questions and reconcile things about herself, her trauma, and her world. Pulling no punches this time! Enjoy! Oh, do Cutey Honey, please? It's practically impossible to find a half-decent fan-story (the best one I found was a RE:CH fanfic that sufficiently filled a plothole in the ending), and I'm sure you could do a CH story that actually feels more meaningful than the usual T&A showcase of most of her continuities.
